How do i make my shih tuz know that he should toilet outside and not on training pads?
My shih tzu goes to the toilet outside when we are outside in the garden but when inside he has pads, is he can’t see a pad or it isn’t right near him he will go on carpet. I praise him and treat him when he goes outside and on the mat but obviously not when he goes on the carpet. I’ve heard people just put the pads closer to the door but if he cant see it he wont go on it, also he’s home alone in a section of the kitchen, so i leave a pad in there for him to go if he needs it while I’m out, i go home at lunch time so if i didn’t leave a pad he would just go on the floor as he wouldn’t be able to last the 4 hours I’m at work before i go home at lunch to see him. Please help
Do i just take the pad away completely? and what about on a night, how do i tell that he needs the toilet because he cries anyway so i wont know if its an i need the toilet cry or just a cry cry.
How do i make my shih tuz know that he should toilet outside and not on training pads?
